It is annoying Dips...We understand they have a job to do but if they're not gardeners they sometimes don't understand the effort we put in.
Years ago we had a chimney taken down and I suddenly heard thud, thud ,thud:th scifD36: they were only flinging the bricks on my lawn:yikes: so I politely asked for them not to do it(don't know how I contained myself:gaah:) "it's only grass"....ONLY BLOOMING GRASS:nonofinger:...I'm sure they thought I was a mad woman:biggrin: but Bacon sarnies cleared the frosty atmosphere:rolleyespink:...

The path isnt the quietest path in the world. It def needs planting either side to soften it so i think the lavender hedges will work well

That's coming on a treat, they've worked hard today.

Yes a lavender hedge will look stunning next to the paving :blue thumb:

Yeh they really have they have had to lay it twice because it kept moving.

They are not happy with the slabs and dont ever want to work with them again. Apparently they aren't all the same thickness and when you try to level them some break. To lay them they are doing a concrete screed and applying pva to the slabs and sticking them down

I have made it extra hard as i have a staggered turn in it where the patio starts. Which they have now reached but only just started on

One sedum plant is fully squashed and the dwarf buddleias are being beaten up a bit. Hopefully they will be fine

I'm sure they will do it justice, Dips.
In my experience of buddleias, they are pretty hard wearing. I've only had one (and that was in one of my previous homes) and chopped it to the ground, dug up all the roots .... a piece of leaf, or some such, must have escaped me because a year later *that* was growing into a healthy plant :rolleyespink: So, hopefully, yours will survive if it has had time to put down roots.

I know the feeling Dips - when I had my fencing done recently, even though the garden looked unimpressive beforehand, while the fencing looked great, the wear and tear aspect was positively depressing!

You will soon have it looking tidy, inviting, attractive and positively flourishing (come Spring!) with all the effort and thought you have invested into it :blue thumb:

Do not see this work as being a hindrance to your plants progress (accepting you may have a few that have been given the "challenge of survival" ) because, those which are strong enough, will survive and those which were not ... well, there be scope for a new planting venture

Thats how im going to try to look at it M

I think the workers have plant blindness there was a machine on my sedum and rock roses this morning

Then just looked out and there are slabs over one of the dwarf buddleias

I have given up and left i cant watch the destruction anymore lol

Looking good Dips, that path is brilliant. I've got the same issue re destruction at the moment although it's all me that is doing it, the lawn is getting trampled to death. It's all worth it in the end, you'll see.

Im trying to keep that in mind.

Is it weird that if im doing the destruction i dont mind but when its other people doing it it stresses me out
