Hi BM. The last part of the project will be to create a 'tropical' feel, so I'll be picking your brains....sometime. :)

Hi BM. Actually, I don't have THAT much space. Both gardens ( cottage and tropical) will measure around 30ft x 14 ft each. The veg patch/greenhouse/ shed took up most of my space, but of course, I'm not complaining. I'm just glad to have a garden that I can do something with, unlike my last house which only had a very small garden. Cheers...freddy.

BTW folks, thanks for all the nice comments. It's a funny thing, at my last house people used to say it looked nice, but I couldn't really see it myself. Sure, I was happy with it (to a point), but I always find it difficult to visualise what I want to end up with and how to get there. I pretty much make it up as I go along. I'm always envious of those that have a clear vision and how to achieve it. Still, I'm having fun trying :) Cheers...freddy.

My goodness Freddy you and your beloved have been busy I wonder has the weather be good for you both or have you trailed mud all over the place?

I know what you mean about people having a brilliant plan of action with strict rules that follow the design plan, although I try to follow some kind of plan I like to bend things along the way because it's not until you start the 'real' work that you find things might not work the best for yourself and if it's your own garden thats what it's all about the garden 'working' in the best possible way for you and your family and not just to look pretty.

I have to admit I'm quite jealous of you Freddy having a lovely veg patch at the bottom of your garden....looks like you will be enjoying loads of yummy veg. Hel.xxx.

You betcha ! Also trying to dodge the showers, a right pain in the butt. But, it's got to be done. Actually, it's not far off now. Path laid, earth dug over, plants planted and bark chips put on top. Just been out there now and sowed some grass along the path. Pix to follow. Cheers...freddy.

Hi again folks, thanks for the nice comments. As promised, here are the latest pix. It's pretty much finished now (this part). I can't say I'm entirely happy with it, but I'll live with it for a while to try to get a feel for any changes I might want to make (if that makes sense :)) [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] Cheers...freddy.

Hi folks. Well, like I said, I'm not entirely happy with it, but it'll look a LOT better when the plants grow a bit bearing in mind that there are many more plants to go in, in the spring. I'm thinking of things like Foxgloves, Delphiniums, Lupins and suchlike. The arches and trellis will be planted up with roses (on order)and I'll have to tackle that wall sometime (re-pointing). Cheers...freddy.
