You've made a lovely job of the fencing Bigbore. :dbgrtmb:

Looking at your plans for the garden. The only possible problem could be the pond close to the house end of your garden. If you have young children the lawn is not going to be easily accessible to them and you'll probably find they or their toys will find there way into it.

I know this is very cheeky, but could I possibly purchase a couple if you have enough (def wouldn't want to try and jump the queue) I love this plant and have never found it in the garden centre. I hope this query isn't inappropriate x x

You'v made a really lovely start! I love the idea of the pond, and with older children I can't see it being that much of a danger as the garden is pretty open plan- meaning you can see the pond at all times.

How about some honeysuckle? I know many types like a lot of sun, and they're pretty good climbers. Not evergreens, but still lovely- particularly the smell!

Could somebody in admin, @ARMANDII, @fat controller or @Zigs kindly put Bigbore's avatar up the right way please. It's dangerous to barbecue downhill!

You can't blame the sun bigbore, I thought you were taking time out to survey your estate and plan your next project. :heehee:

Yep I was really planning my next project, so I have now ordered 7 sleepers to start off the raised lawn, I will be working on the front end first as that is what will be seen all of the time,

roughly about 11ft square starting flush with the ground at the back end and raising to 600mm at the front as the garden is on a slope.

So far I have drawn two plans on how to go about building the front. Plan A shows a flush front with three upright sleepers concreted into the ground at the back end for support, all of the base sleepers will have six inch nails in them that are concreted into small foundations to add more support

or do I use plan b where I interlock the sides and still have the upright sleepers for support

Once this frame is built I will be filling with drainage pipes gravel and top soil, then final job will be to plant a nice flat lawn

                  ...............................................................

Would just like to thank all for the kind comments and help

Oops! I got distracted by the stamps. :) I think plan A would look better from the front but plan B will give a stronger finish with the interlocking sleepers. Knowing that it will be long term support for your lawn I'd opt for B.

That's the front row of supports concreted in position, ordered another 8 sleepers which should see the job through to completion
