Right today I have been playing around with some marker paint and how I might like the waterfall / stream

I have taken some pictures and look forward to some feedback :D

This is the main area of the pond that will be 7ftx6ftx4ft

This is the narrow part of the pond before it goes under the bridge, its 3ft wide and 3ft deep

This is the planted side that will be 6x6x2ft

This was just a trial build of the fall/stream , I will be raising this the same height as the sleepers which is 600mm

So thoughts and advice please people , does this look big enough to hold a couple of koi fish? main length is 19ft

    Cheers for reading

    Jamie

Koi like it clear, filtered and deep . They'll like the oxygen from the waterfall. Can you shade it?
I love your ideas and sturdy structures BB. It's going to look wonderful and I've so enjoyed finding this thread today,
thanks for sharing it with us,

        Pond Size:

A Koi pond needs to provide clean, well oxygenated water in order to produce a healthy environment for fish to live and grow. The basic requirements are: To be large enough to accommodate the potential size that Koi can grow to ( 24 inches / 60cm plus). A pond of around 8 feet x 6 feet and 4 feet deep (2.5m x 2m x 1.2m) containing approx' 1200 gallons (5500L) would be a sensible minimum for keeping Koi in the UK or other temperate climates. The larger the pond the better it will be, an example of this is the pond picture to the left, many Koi keepers have found that what appears to be a massive pond, soon looks too small for their growing collection of fish. Many people find they end up building two, three or more Koi ponds before finally arriving at the perfect set up. While it is tempting to economise, it is well worth bearing in mind that building a good size pond in the first place is cheaper than building a succession of Koi ponds.

Not really done a lot on the garden, but on Friday my Granddad dropped me off a homemade bird table

Even made the name badge on the front bless him

The box is now finished and I now need to order some top soil

Fitted the garden with power and have a main isolated fitted so I can shut the whole garden off

Fitted a double socket for my bbq shack for lights and radio

Next job is to sink the rest of the cable. I did manage to find time for a bbq but again the rain followed

At long last I started to clear the area where the pond is going, not very nice work in this weather!

Wanted to add a planter to the patio so a quick trip to the local builders yard and a empty wallet later I produced this

Also bought a nice banana plant and palm to go in it
