Well as the kids are off school for the long holidays i put them to work on the garden, both loved it and had fun helping out Dad.

Just hope we don't have any H&S Executives on site with this picture of me and the lad Balancing with a saw :-)

Now time for some digging and cleaning

As the wedding is now getting closer i have to watch what funds i'm spending the on garden project, with this in mind i spent the weekend pottering around the garden using up some left over wood i had from the first planter and decided to make another to fill with bamboo and hide some of the shed

I then dug out the area next to the shed to get it level and ready to add a sleeper step and fill with either gravel or white pebbles ( would like the views from other as what to use)

Saturday night came a heavy downpour of rain which showed that i have parts of the garden that hold water, so looks like i will have to add a couple of french drains in the future

The saving of the funds didn't last to long as i managed to escape to the garden center and came back with these few plants

That's it for now and nearing the end of the project for this year, i plan to sort the spot out next to the shed then the rest will start again in May 2016.

I hope you have all enjoyed the Journey so far.

      Jamie

Wedding? Did you tell us about a wedding somewhere along the line? :)

You've done a great job so far :dbgrtmb: and think as you say, sorting out the standing water problem is high on the agenda. It could well get worse over the winter months.

[IMG] Hope you get to eat the seeds before the birds do or are you not bothered? Is this your first one - if not, did you eat the seeds or plant them?

another couple a weeks and we should have a lawn, going to rotavate it tomorrow and get out anymore stones then repeat for the next couple of weeks.

Today I set the light in position and wired it up temporarily until the electrician comes and does it, all I need now is to order some stones to fill this area next to the shed
