    crgs rose care list
    • get rid of the bark - don't stick bark or fresh manure anywhere near the roses
    • soak bare root rose
    • double dig THE BORDER AND DIG a hole
    • mix some planting mixture 1part peat 1 part soil and a and A HANDFULL of bonemeal per wheelbarrow full.
    • put some at the bottom of the hole
    • hold the rose over the hole and sprinkle on Mycorrhizal fungi
    • lay the rose roots like woos pic shows.
    • back fill with planting mixture with union 2-3 cm below soil level and make sure soil is firm
    • feed with a granular feed in march and again in mid to late june
put the feed on first then the mulch (well rotted manure) in a circle around the crown
    • mulch again in autumn
    • use my rose clear in spring and then every 14 days at the very most if roses are very sick. nicking the idea of spraying on the 1st and 15th of the month rather than trying to count 14 days
    • dont plant them too close together
    • keep my secaturs clean with baby wipes in-between plants
    • deadhead as required
    • prune in mid march using the easy care method - cutting rose to half its height
    • dont plant a rose anywhere where one has been before
    • give them regular long watering by the roots add uncle toms rose tonic if u like

Are you still worrying about the above CRG? It looks okay to me apart from the fifth one down. Don't put fertiliser in the bottom of the hole, it will burn the roots if they are in direct contact with it apparently.

I should think with the amount of roses you've planted recently you should know the above back to front.

I think we're all champing at the bit now, waiting for the roses to start stirring in the garden. :) It seems ages still, until we see them in bloom.

Plants of any kind aren't usually fed until they are active, I would leave feeding until March. :)

Hi CH/R the short answer is yes,if I understand you the ones that you have deadheaded have created a new bud(Growth) look upon it as they are reacting to your deadheading as a minute prune so you have probably created the new buds by deadheading your rose, this is only my personal opinion:)

I would respectfully suggest that you wait until mid FEB/March until you prune it is to cold and frosty now, You prune just above a leaf Bud not a flower Bud:)
