Lovely cottage garden style Flyingfree. It is what we are trying to achieve with our garden because when we moved into this new village our house style was Primrose Cottage so along with a lot of cottage style plants we brought with us and more that we have been out and bought plus the pots we have now got as well, our front and back garden looks morw cottagey by the day:D

I love the way you have the small stones set out a bit like a courtyard style if you don't mind me saying and we also have some of those mini greenhouses and I do like the different style pots you have, especially the terracota one at the front with Cottage Garden stamped on it.I will have to go out and take some photos of all my stuff to show you now that the garden is getting more established nearly eight years on,and Mr Kandy is coming round to my idea of shrinking the back lawn some more for all the plants we keep buying, though as Dee says it is finding the time to sit in the garden to enjoy it all.:thmb:

Thanks for sharing your garden, pots and plants with us all:)

Thankyou everyone for your lovely comments. :luv:

Well the filter OH put on the pond has worked. The water is getting clearer, I can see the fish now! One fish has a lump on his face which makes him look lop sided but he has been like this for ages and seems quite happy. The little wooden house behind the pond is a frog house.

This shrub has been beautiful this year, I know it is related to lilac-the smell is wonderful :)

Your garden is lovely Jazmine. Thank you for sharing it with us.

About your wren - did you know that the male constructs several nests then the female decides which one to use and lines it with feathers. I think in your case the female didn't choose "your" nest.

They will also use an old nest for roosting in winter and all the wrens pile in.
A few years ago we had a winter roost nest and every day at the same time every wren in the district piled in there, we couldn't count them. I just don't know how they all got in there but it was fascinating to watch.

Thanks Alice, yes I did know but I was really hoping she would stay. :(

Here are some pics of our holiday. The coast is owned by The National Trust and is designated a place of outstanding beauty. Blakeney Point where the seals are has a full time warden and we were allowed off the boat further away from the seals to walk and see all the birds and the nests which had been ringed off for protection.

Here is the boat, it rained and was choppy!

The seals were not fazed by us at all and some were showng off in the water-common and grey seals. Some were pregnant and very fat!

This is the beach right where we stayed

This is part of Walsingham Shrine where the pilgrames are depicted on TV.

This is part of the abbey ruins-we walked miles, all through the woods and saw the wildflower meadows which were lovely.

    OH waiting for me!

Here is a pic of my garden after OH had dug it over. It was very muddy - I had two dogs at the time and two young children. Both pics taken from the same window so you can compare.

Thanks Rosa and Dee, it has taken a lot of time and hard work to transform it from the muddy mess the builders left it in but worth every minute we have put in.

Hubby laid the block paving and the paths all himself. It was painstaking to do it. He's really good when it comes to any "hands on" stuff and I do all the "titivating"

We really enjoy it as does my neighbour!
I have lots to learn though - that's why I like this forum.
