    Wotcha Freddy,

    Geologically, thats what we'd call "Iron Panning" Where minerals from the topsoil have been washed down into the subsoil, consolidating it into, well, someting like Iron.

    Needs to be broken up either physically with a bar or by deep rooted plants like Comfrey.

                Oh yes! I'm making plans. Strawberries and raspberries which are already there. A dwarf pear and eating apple. Blackberries, garlic, onions, carrots, peas, beans, cabbage, artichokes, some flowers for the bees and butterflies and maybe a few other bits. I'm going to put a small pond in for the frogs too.

                  I love garlic!! The only veg i have ever had any look with is cauliflower lol but the slugs had that :dunno:
