St James's...think we'll be passing by that way on Tuesday, I'll see what I can do. Though if the weather has not improved it's likely to be Black and White ! Isn't this the church you got married in?

More wonderful shots - Thirlmere my favorite from these (reminds me of camping trips!) You do need to find out about the postcard industry - really!

If you're taking requests, are you ever around the Ambleside/Langdale/Kirkdale pass way? :)

Dont you mean Kirkstone? I have some of there looking down over Rydal water...but Rydal was obscured by an incursion that day..I must dig them out. But yes I visit those places reasonably regularly.

Erm....:o.... you are certainly on the right lines Steve.

Me and Mr Cookie have not tied the knot officially, but St James's was were we found ourselves there alone on a brillinatly sunny day in the early days of our time together and we made a vow as important and as strong as any official one to each other that day. It seemed the perfect place, beautiful, peaceful, close to nature, just us and centuries of history of other people making the same pledge together before us.

It was perfect and this chapel will remain one of my most precious places because of it. It was very spiritual, without being specifically religious, which we are not.

In that case, I will make it a special project for the summer for you, I'll get a shot of it first then we can attempt to get the shot you want, from the angle you want (ie exactly where you where at that moment). How does that suit you?

Steve - that would be marvellous! :) :) :) :) Thank you so much! You have a commission!

I remember it had a little graveyard and I think there were sheep roaming around it! We didn't see another living human soul there though, which made it feel like it was 'our' place... just for a little while! The actual moment we pledged our love and stuff was inside the church, which was the most lovely little country chapel I have ever been in - simple and old fashioned and utterly peaceful!

Thanks Steve - means a lot!

Here you go Cookie Monster, here's one for you.:)

More to follow when I have the time to process them as they are all in RAW format at the moment (RAW is an advanced photo saving format available on some digital cameras and equates to better overall quality).

I'll put them somewhere private for you then send you the full size files on a disc of the ones you want, and I can even re-shoot some if necessary.

Its a lovely little Church, well maintained.

    Steve...:)

STEVE! THANK YOU SO MUCH - it is just as I remember it - this was the view we had as we first approached it !

Such lovely memories - thank you :):):):)

Can't wait to see your others!

    Kath xx

ETA: Looking closely at your photo has reminded me of something I had forgotten! The Cast Iron gate into the main entrance has a moulding of a shepherd with a crook and a hillside - such a lovely Cumbrian theme to add to a simple chapel... marvellous!

Steve - here is a picture I took of Buttermere Church back in 2005 when I first went with James.

I played around with it to make it look as old as I could so that I could imagine what it looked like in times gone by...

Not a patch on your work - but this has been my only reminder of it until today.

Thanks again - it was very kind of you to do this for me! :)
