Glad to hear that. Sometimes the oldies are the best(meant to be talking about remedies but thinking about myself:) :) ). Seriously, I was just talking today about vinegar and here you are saying that honey worked best - whether human or animal, there is some truth in the old wives tales!

Send some pics of Holly back to her normal self.

    cheers

    Thanks o2 :)

Here you are Borrowers, I took her for her first "proper" walk since her Op just after lunch today and took a couple of pics of her, you can still see slight traces of her wound on her back right knee and she's still half bald but as you can see she's a happy doggy :thumb:

I'm so glad to hear and see that Holly is doing better, Ruby. :thumb: Big hug and kiss from me.

I've heard of honey having good healing properties and having helped where other things haven't. Same goes for you mentioning vinegar, borrowers. (vinegar, water and sugar for coughs)

    Hi Ruby,

I've only just come across this thread. I'm sorry to hear Holly has been poorly but pleased to hear that she is a lot better :thumb: :)

Re: honey for wounds, it is not just an old remedy but is used in hospitals around the world. There are even dressings available that contain honey. The best honey to use for wounds and skin ulcers is Manuka honey. Mrs shiney has used it very successfully with a lot of patients where conventional medicine hasn't seemed to work.

My mother had honey dressings put on her leg ulcers by the district nurse when other medication wasn't working - and they got better.

    Here's a bit of info

    Hugs to Holly :)

One good thing about honey is it heals inside and out.:thmb: 02
