A fence on the garage side. I was planning a greenhouse that side but laying the base on the ground in different orientations the original orientation didn't really work. With the hedges gone it feels completely different and I've gained a good meter on each side to what I was expecting.
So, the greenhouse is going to back up to the wall opposite the garage instead of spanning the width of that level. I think anyway. I'm going to completely gut and level down that level this weekend and probably start a voting poll on here.
There's a few reasons for the change. The wind being one, I've got to be fairly careful, being on a hill we get the brunt of any wind coming our way in the garden, greenhouses aren't known for their strength against wind really...

This is the Louvre I made, solid!
      IMAG1526.jpg IMAG1535.jpg

Also I'm amazed about the amount of light I now get in the garage! Now I see why they put this window here.

      IMAG1532.jpg
Here's the drop between two gardens I had to contend with when cutting the hedges.

      IMAG1534.jpg
Poor bulbs (tulips) I wonder if they will survive such a harsh frost.

      IMAG1537.jpg
This... is what's replacing the hedge. Little greenhouse, everybody said get the biggest I could afford, so I did. This is why I am being a little careful about wind.
      IMAG1531.jpg
I wanted the gh along the line of the garage roof from left to right in this photo, all the sun comes from behind me in the photo, and all the wind from the left to right (usually).
      But I don't think it'll look right.
The other option is having the apex of the roof where I'm taking the photo from with the gh following the right hand wall... with the entrance on the garage side
      IMAG1528.jpg
      From the other angle...
Original location would be left to right closest to the garage.
Planned location following the lh wall backing up to the wall to the next level which I plan on bracing the gh to via wood buttons.
      Plenty of weekend work!

The louvre is quite substantial and should do the trick with keeping the garage aired. :)

Looking at the last picture here and regarding the wind direction I think it would be safer to butt the greenhouse side on, against the upper tier wall. Is that area wide enough to take the 10ft length without obstructing the steps? If the wind 'jostles' the greenhouse in the future perhaps you could bang some posts into the ground on what would be the left side and against the rear of the greenhouse to give it some screening. I don't think there would be much light lost from doing that.

Side on against the wall I think I'll be pushing it with the door, I'll definitely be having to step over a tree stump. :(

Personally I would be inclined to put the greenhouse in another area then. I think the aspect is to open and to risky to put it anywhere other than against the tier wall. In strong winds it will be exposed and need some protection or you could find yourself chasing a 'flat pack' around your neighbourhood.

I've finally had a weather window to dig the level for the greenhouse with a slight drop towards the wall for gutter drainage
IMAG1674-800x452.jpg that's level to the spirit level and dropping to the left just so the edge of the bubble touches the line.
Might end up fully level when concreting ... we'll see.
It's a shame the wall is so out of level and not square or I could have used that.
              IMAG1675-800x452.jpg
Two more flowers with the bulb border, for a bit of color when they are gone.
              IMAG1676-800x452.jpg
Nice new lavender on compost mounds. The other stuff didn't survive the winter.
              IMAG1677-800x452.jpg IMAG1678-800x452.jpg
Big strawberry patch on rough ground. Potatoes are taking the rest when I plant them
              IMAG1679-800x452.jpg
              And yet again... a mess!

Have you left yourself room round the outside of the greenhouse for possible maintenance Neil. You don't want to be teetering on the edge if you have to do repairs.

The mess is easily cleared, particularly if the wind gets up!

Teetering on the edge! Hehe it looks narrow on the pictures but it's quite wide to walk on for maintenance:)

                    Where do I start!
                    The greenhouse is up...
                    IMAG1994-1024x579.jpg
More on that in a bit!
                    IMAG1975-1024x579.jpg
The fire pit area is tidier....
And keen eyes will have seen the planters!
                    IMAG1976-1024x579.jpg
                    And more mess :(
                    IMAG1978-1024x579.jpg
The planters have these in... my brother has them in his garden trailing down the wall like a waterfall, I liked the idea so I copied, just on a bigger scale!

IMAG1973-1024x579.jpg The top level is now maturing, the potatoes are coming up (mainly there to break up the clay soil this year!) And strawberries up front
                      IMAG1974-1024x579.jpg
                      Looking... OK.
                      IMAG1979-1024x579.jpg
Looking down the garden, much tidier! With my sweetcorn. Runner bean tower (soon to be a second one of those!) And a flowering plant, it's pink/red and my wife wanted it... so it's there!.

                      IMAG1980-1024x579.jpg

                      Hmm what next!

                      IMAG1981-1024x579.jpg
Oh yes! Roses and lavender, they are in their own mound of compost. The last ones didn't survive the winter :(
                      IMAG1982-1024x579.jpg
A new addition! The next level down I've cleared for the greenhouse. Eventually I'll have a fence on the end with climbers and some plants covering the side of the greenhouse, eventually!
Green beans runner beans and sugar snap peas here this year.
