I always use Dressinggown belts bob, from old Dressinggowns :D

OK I mentioned i was starting a new Tropical Border this spring, well its been such a beautifull day here in Geordieland I thought I would make a start.

Im going to lengthen this border to the end of the Trellis...

I was going to dig the Lavender out :( Its huge, but beautifull, then i had a thought, Why not widen it too, then gravel over the small border in front of it, then i can keep the Lavender..Please give Opinion's on this as im in two minds :gnthb:

Oh forgot to say what ive been Buzy doing,Duh, I stained the Trellis Brown, it was a nasty shade of Blue..

Thats a passionflower you can see, its buried into a big bucket, i tried to get it out with intention of digging it into the border but the roots have grown through the bottom and into the soil and its not budging :D
    Before..

After.. It needs a second coat as it started to rain..

Tropical creep they call it

Do you trim the lavender back at all. Tis lovely to have a mature lavender if you can keep it full and healthy without too much legginess.:gnthb:

Yeah, every year BM, it smells Gorgeous and gets covered in Bee's, I really want to keep it but it takes over that border, so i think ill widen it and get rid of the smaller border, Mmmm  Thanks a lot :thmb:

Be ruthless young daisy, lavender cann't be divided it is really a small shrub but you could take some tip cuttings dig the rest up then you can sort out the border.
