It was in the same position for many,many years.
I salvaged it two years ago.

I remember it as a little lad and it always kept the calving shed door closed.Struck many a match on it having a crafty smoke too :D

 

Hi Nick,my father had an old scale weight for his barn door i think it was 56 lb one

 

I forgot to say that it was attached to the door with a pulley and rope

 

This is carved from a lump of Cotswold stone and the eye is set in with lead.
I had to replace a section of it with cement and stone dust and reset the eye after it was broken by builders when we converted the buildings.
