    Its another morse key.
This one is a twin paddle key with memories. One paddle sends a string of dots the other a string of dashes. The speed is adjustable. Much easier to use than a straight key. For example to send ââ?¬Å?Jââ?¬Â (dit dah dah dah) on a straight key takes four movements. With the paddle it only take two gentle squeezes. I can also programme the memories with commonly sent text and simply press a button to send it.
My mini paddle is about the size of a matchbox and I take it on holiday along with my pocket sized radio and a vertical antenna that collapses down to a size that fits into a suitcase.

    Yep Nick.
It was anold ex-army straight key. I had to pass my 10 wpm morse test on a straight key. I've had a few "up and downers", but have flogged all but one which I occasionally take out and play with.
I now usually work at about 20-22 wpm but can copy up to about 50% at 32wpm at a push.

CQ - a general call to anyone. Filmed in the USA and they were 100 feet up. The tower itself is rotatable. No shortage of cash for the hobby there!
BTW with my tiny little radio running just 2.5 Watts I had a contact with Japan from our studio in Greece just a couple of weeks ago.

    Yep!
Even got the leatherman in the suitcase along with a roll of insulating tape, a few plastic cable ties and fuse wire. I've fixed bog seats that have been falling off, showers that don't shower, door locks that don't lock, locks on cases that don't unlock, a whole studio block with no electricity, broken handles on suitcases, circuit breakers that won't reset. Rescued cats off roofs, lizards from bedrooms and a couple of young ladies from a big scorpion.

Have yet to extract a stone from a horse's hoof though.
