I made three from authentic designs and flew them on the local sports grond. Blooming lethal!! You have to hold them vertically with the upper tip pointing into and across a mild breeze. They zoom off like fury, climb to a great height and then circle back to you coming in lower and lower. If you are lucky you catch it - if unlucky you break your fingers - if sensible you get out of the way



These are two of the three that I made from plywood and are based on authentic originals. The third smashed to pieces on return when it hit a brick wall! Very clever design as the leading and trailing edges have to be shaped like aerofoil wings to give lift. They were used as throwing weapons against flocks of birds.
