    Sorry folks...Went down the shed had a few beers and got lost :D
    (Daughter came for tea and had some work to do on PC.)
    Most of what you see is ornamental.
    I made it for someone who never came back for it.

    No. It is a single item with no other connecting parts. It is an ornamental object..but a copy of something used a couple of hundred years ago,or so! ;)

    Liz, could it be a finial of some sort or a decoration for on top of a tea caddy?

    Pal, I was thinking of a thumb and latch door handle but gone and looked at mine and it's nothing like that! Could it be a decorative window latch?
