I wonder that you don't know the term "fender" Sis, as it is the only term that I know of for this item. I thought that is what we always called it as kids. Yes, to the wing on a car, and also it is a puffer thing to stop boats bumping into others when docked.

I thought the only other 'Fender' was the American word for a car bumper.

... and also a brand of guitar and amplifier.

But I lived in the States a total of 20 years, you only 7 or 8, so fender to me is a part of a car as cars were a big part of my life there.

As you are older, I probably didn't know a fender as part of a fire ... family discussion on forum over. [IMG] [IMG]

Anyway, I've come up with something ...

    What is it?

Pal, we crossed wires ... a bumper is a bumper is America, a fender is a wing. A British, oft repeated misconception ... t'other half should know, as you know! [IMG]

    So, what's the Mystery Object then ... and I'll give you a clue ... it's not a bumper or fender! :D :D

Could be ventilation holes in the back of a TV or radio.

    Cheers MIKE

No, AndyK, no actual musical connection (although music could come into it) and no it's not a computer speaker, D1zi ... I don't have a laptop! You're on the right track though. [IMG]
