Sorry, neither of those, not even warm. I've just realised it does look a bit like a gun sight. This thing does make a noise or two but not nearly as loud as a gun.

Well done Sarra, I was going to give some clues after clock but you beat me to it.

 

Well. I sat down at the piano to play 'Rachmanninoff's variations on a theme of Chopsticks' to the family. When I looked up they had all gone to the pub but my metronome (which I find it very difficult to play 'Chopsticks' without) was staring me in the face.

If you don't mind I'll post tomorrow. I have got one, but the family are.......whoops, were, here. :D

Rosa. It goes tick tock in a time that you set to basically beat out the time (rhythm) when you are playing music. My mother used one when she was learning the jews' harp, nose flute and bagpipes. She was a hard rock fan.
