    It fitted through a massive oak door with a retaining plate to hold it,and a lantern sat in the hoop.

    I could see the hoop shadow in the picture but it was throwing me off guard! It's definitely a knocker and a half ....

    .... like the ones in Young Frankenstein with Gene Wilder :eek:
