Best guess, but the hole in the top rules it out, would be a fisherman's priest.

 

mr Fiz agrees with Marley.something to do with fishing.maybe attatch the fly thingy to it?

 

Without the hole, I would have called it a butter paddle, with the hole, looks like either a slingshot or the end of a bow.

The object is upside down and you are looking at the under side.A thinish stick would have been pushed into the hole.

 

Its a decoy 'doo, or pigeon for those wot speaks posh.

Oh, I see, so the otherside is painted to look like a bird and it stands on the stick- have you seen or got one, DaveW?

 

I've used the modern plastic decoys Liz, but gave up shooting a while ago.

Not certain that I've guessed correctly yet - waiting for Paladin's yea or nay
