Hooray - I like this game!

I'm finding this very tricky though...

    cosmos
    pelargonium
    nicotiana
    marigold
    sunflower?
    rudbekhia
    bidens (with thanks to Pete!)
    dusty miller?
Is there a rose in there at the back?
I see something at the front right - is that the thing yet to come into flower? Hmmm - but that would be 10!

    How'd I do?

Just wanted to say it's a beautiful border, not something you see here, so it's a real treat for me. Thank you.

    Dusty Miller is the Cineraria.

    Hi LOL!
Bidens is WRONG?!! So what is that wee yellow flowered flower??? Hmmmm

Dusty Miller 'is' that silver leaved bedding plant - which can grow bigger, and have yellow flowers. I had to search that one's name - I had it in my silvery/white bed (the one with the pink/purple/yellow flowers in it!) a few years ago - but forgot it's name. I think it has another one too - but am blowed if I can remember it!

Right - let me look again:

It's not some kind of tagetes/french marigold thingy is it??
And is that a passion-flower climbing up the wall?

Hi JarBax. Cineraria maritima is also called Senecio maritima and Senecio cineraria and Senecio bicolor! Within this there is Silverdust, White Diamond and Cirrhus. roders appears to have the Silverdust which I had here.

I had one here but it got out of control sizewise even though I cut it back every year. I would let it flower then immediately cut it back although some schools of thought is not to allow it to flower, have it only for its lovely foliage.

I'm still working on the wee yellow flowered flower but it didn't look like Bidens to me.

I was wondering if there was a varigated ivy on the right.

Having said all the above about Cineraria, it could possibly be Pyrethrum ptarmicaeflorum and the wee yellow flowers could be Tagetes signata 'Lemon Gem'.

And now I think what I think was going up is actually coming down from the hanging basket!

    :D

Thanks for all the info on the cineraria - I really had it in my mind that it started with a 'd'! (not 'dusty' obviously!)

Had to giggle at your last sentense!

Another couple of guesses (blind) as to the thing that's not flowering yet (I'm guessing it is the climber that is climbing UP!) - honeysuckly/clematis/jasmine/ivy - can't think offhand of anyother climbers!

Maybe it's not a climber but a close cut to the wall shrub like a Chaenomeles speciosa or such like?

    What's a honeysuckly? :D

I thought of a Pyracantha because I had one a million years ago (well, actually, from in the late 70s/early 80s but that seems like a millions years ago) so I couldn't quite remember.

I was only jesting, JarBax, I have Honeysucklies as well! [IMG]

You guessed the most so it's your turn. When and where do you go on hols?
