Thats interesting Nathan, seems I've got the spiny ones this time round. Not really expecting fruit this year ,but who knows. Agree they dont like hot sun, its been hot today and they're drinking water like crazy.
Saw another of my fruiting plants on that site, Feijoa. Been growing it for a few years now and had my first fruit last year, just forming flower buds now. Bit confusing as thats a new zealand site.

Just having a browse, and noticed a google ad at the top of the page http://www.bigplantsonline.co.uk , have a look, very interesting and different.

I was given an agave americana the other day by a customer, it is now residing in my greenhouse until it grows a bit bigger (approx 2 1/2" tall at present), do you know much about them?

    Nathan.

    Hi, Ladybird,

I think you're right, i think it's caterpillars as well, never seen one on my pepper plant though,

what would you recommend, don't really have time to sit and wait for them to appear?

Do they ever appear in daylight.

    Many Thanks Sallyann.

Sallyann it's the lovely butterflies lay the eggs, then turn into caterpillars lol... my cats catch the Butterflies for me, so never have any holes in leaves. Look at the stems, you can hardly see them, once they have young, they can strip a plant in one night, they are same green as peppers. they hide there in daytime.. and have a feast in the night, then get a Shotgun lol... or just pick them off.

They might, if you can keep them reasonably warm into the autumn.
My pepinos set fruit very late last year, and I didn't think they would ripen, but they did, in January.
