Aha BM ... is the pot in front of the tree !!!!! you fooled me there :rolleyes: ....delighted that they do well in your area ...M-L

 

No it is a sneaky height gaining trick. I fell in love with the tree when I saw it only I wanted to walk under it. So it is potted in the bottomless oak barrel straight into the ground, all be it a little raised. The pot is laid in a discrete ring of concrete decorated with granite sets. It is really strudy and has been growing like this for about 5 summers now.
