    UPDATE:

Looks like the little flying horrors are decreasing in numbers.

Got up this morning and there were only about 40 dead flies in the kitchen, as opposed to 200-300.

Fingers crossed we can clean the kitchen up properly in the next week and move back in. Thanks for your replies and advice. :)

The temperatures are dropping so perhaps that's helping. Let's hope that's the last of them Adam. :)

Sheal, I think I spoke too soon.

The aphids were out in force last night and it was fairly cold. I went into the kitchen, turned on the light and immediately saw around 20 hovering round the shade/bulb.

Then in the bathroom I saw some white aphids on the bathroom mirror. This is really starting to **** me off. Sorry for the language, but this is mid October. I might expect this in July, but now???

Also, what do they expect to feed off? There are no plants in my house. Seems a strange place to set up home.:mad::scratch::scratch:

Are you able to get close-up photos of them?

@shiney...Yeah, I can do that but I have just wiped the windows clean. It'll have to wait until tomorrow morning. Thanks.

Where in the world are you @Adamoxo? Just wondering if there might be any other environmental factors that we might not have considered yet....

I'm in Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne, Fat-Controller.

              * Thanks, Zigs. I'd actually prefer Ladybirds to aphids.

** You never guess what happened tonight...

We still have our fridge in the kitchen which is now normally out of bounds.

I opened up the fridge to get some juice out, and there were two greenfly in the fridge. One dead. One alive. WTF.

Now we're going to have to wrap all our foodstuff in plastic bags. Jeez.:mad:

I've just had a thought. Have you pulled your appliances out Adam to see what's happening behind them? Particularly those connected to hoses, washing machine etc., they could be coming in through gaps in the wall where the hoses meet.

                    I have DEMON aphids, Zigs.

@Sheal...I could try behind the washing machine. But they appear to come out of nothing. Like suddenly they're there. It's so weird.

I'll try and take a picture today.

@shiney, she's referring to a picture link showing the flies in my kitchen, but the link has been deleted.

                        I didn't delete the link.
