As a group, have you involved the council, or commissioned a solicitor/advocate?

1 of the people who have a charge against them has a very close cousin who is a solicitor :dbgrtmb: ,but the rest are more involved in trying to stop the allotment development just now, tiny village they havbe nothing better to do,i actually think my ex scared them into keeping the dog away he nearly put the garden fork through the thing when it was trying to attack me :fingerdrum: we havent had (i havent )had a problem since ,on the same day the police caught her trying to provoke me after they had called the police to try and charge us for chasing the dog

While I agree in principle, that we have the right to use any means necessary to protect ourselves, our property etc, I must chuck in a word of caution here, and apologies in advance because what I'm about to describe is horrible.

About 20 years ago in my neighbourhood, a rotty decided to attack a woman in the street (I don't know what happened leading up to that). A man saw what was happening, and ran outside and belted the dog repeatedly with a lump of 2x2. The dog just ignored him for a while until it got sick of the mild annoyance, and then it turned on the bloke. Tragically the woman died of her injuries, and the bloke had a lucky escape.

I love dogs, but they have to be raised right. Most dog owners know this, but sadly some don't know or don't care, and in that situation dogs are many many times tougher than even a grown man with a big lump of wood in his hand.

The lesson to be learned there is that if someone isn't keeping their dog under control, and clearly has no respect for their neighbours and they don't care what their dog is up to, then appropriate authorities are the way to go. Someone like the RSPCA would usually be interested to know if a dog was being left to its own devices as a matter of course.

I should point out also, that the vast majority of dogs and their owners create no bother at all, but the tiny minority that do give bother can create a lot of bother and need to be brought to account.

Dogs are complex animals, and if you go for the more aggressive breeds you need to know what you are doing.

thanks for all the responces, And sorry i didnt respond earlier.
              had to pop out,
well this as been going on for a while. And i did stop him entering the garden, but as now wrecked some fence to enter. they are aware that , he gets out. but, they seem a bit snotty to be honest.
we also have our own dogs ( 2 staffies,) and have thought about letting them both out, but being our family dogs, i didnt want to go down that route.
              thanks
think ill pop around and see them.
