    Yep, royal Nerines have I. There was also a grape vine, which was struck from a bit of twig 'found ...' (according to my Grandad) ' .. laying around during pruning', of which I'm not sure HM's gardener was aware. As I recall, they were very nice grapes too!

    I have had a good look and scraped away about 1" of soil from round the bulb and cant see any sign , so i will mark the spot and next spring dig it up and replant it as instructed 1/2 out of soil,

    Don't know where this idea of them being fiddly has come from. I just plant them in the warmest and sunniest spot, and well drained - in front of my conservatory and thats it. I dont touch them from one years end to the next. I also grow Crinums there. Even the weeds dont grow well, its too hot and dry and I have spread a thick mulch of gravel. No feeding, watering or anything. I have the normal pink which is Nerine bowdenii and a deeper pink one, whose name I have forgotten.
