I think I must have tempted fate @silu when I said you'd probably escaped the worst of the snow, sorry!
Just admit it @"M" your waiting for an invite give @Sheal time to settle in why don't you before inviting yourself for a
All's well @Sheal. The white stuff stopped falling soon after I posted earlier today and then had bright blue skies for the rest of the day so here does not look like my avatar! Road all salted and easily passable so planning an expensive visit to the garden centre tomorrow to get my seed potatoes plus no doubt lots of other unplanned purchases. You are brave having the central heating installed now and loosing your burner for a while. Presume the burner is 1 with a back boiler to do the water as well. Ours are just free standing and don't do the water which in some ways is a pity but then not so when we don't have the burners going. If there are hitches with the install high tail it down here, we have spare beds and HEAT! Luckily just seen the weather forecast and next week is meant to be decidedly warmer so hopefully you won't be candidates for hypothermia.
Enjoy yourself amongst the plants tomorrow. No, not brave with the heating but desperate! The main boiler is currently being nursed and the water heating side has already given up the ghost - immersion only. Yes, the burner has a back boiler also. That worked in conjunction with the main boiler but hasn't been in use as it can't be trusted. The burner will then have a back plate fitted to use it independently. I'm having a combination oil boiler fitted which means the removal of tanks, pipework and pumps that are currently in situ and half the radiators replaced. The others are almost new. A new control panel too. By the end of next week I'll be missing an arm and a leg! Oh, and thank you for the kind offer of a bed.
Only a thought and it may be different in your area but try The Oil-Club - Home for your oil supply. I have found them to be extremely competitive even when nobody else was ordering in my area making a group saving. The other companies that supply here with competitive pricing(think they supply all over Scotland) are Chrystal and Gleaner but it may be different in the Inverness area. I used to use Boilerjuice for years and they were very competitive, however they got bigger and bigger and so did their prices! We have quite a big tank (2500ls) so a few pence difference makes a considerable difference in cost for exactly the same product.
There are a number of oil companies that deliver up here @silu so their prices are competitive. I'm not sure if the Oil Club would work here but I'll check it out, thanks.
Now you know how much I like cooking? I could cope with a BBQ @"M", but six inches of snow is an issue at the moment. Not possible @Gail_68 - we haven't got a TV licence.
