    Helen, posted before on this site, every year I shred our xmas tree and spread over our hostas, not sure what it does to the soil condition, but it keeps the slugs and snails off.

    Keving maybe you should buy a bigger tree this year so we can buy some off you for our hostas.

    mef750, the bigger the better, i am not happy unless it touched the ceiling, much to the annoyance of my wife!

    Good idea Keving only problem is I don't have a "real" Christmas tree although I could nick one from the sister-in-law. ;)

    I think i will just do that Keving,

    I am enjoying buying plants by way of the web and sitting on the garden swing giving orders to my lad as to what to do and where to put them :D as soon as i am better i will get stuck in again :D

    TY Keving,

    I'm bouncing back quickly, i simply can't allow time for illness/breakages without booking it into my year well in advance :mad: the consultant despairs of me he says, but i make him laugh so get away with it :D
