New 'hot colour' border

    Thanks Macraignil, I have a couple of purple pittosporum and they would work well, and like the look of the coprosma too. Thanks :smile:

      Thanks Perki, your border is just a bit smaller than mine so gives me a really good idea of what I can do. I love your selection of plants and are just the ones I'd choose. Do you find the Sambacus gets too big or is it ok?

      I just pinch the leading shoot out when I think its starting to get to big , and cut back hard in winter . I grow it for the foliage really not the flowers . I have physocarpus diablo in the back garden which has dark foliage . I be tempted to plant a cotinus royal purple if i were to start again and prune that back hard each year.

        Thanks, I'll look into all those. I think the biggest challenge is what is available at the moment. The ones I've grown from seed (very proud! :smile:) are going to be ready soon, especially the dahlias but I'm a concerned about putting them out too early but I'm not sure they can hang on until May.
