Hi Ste had 7 hours of solid sleep the other day but sadly it must have been a one off...never mind I'm sure I'll get sorted in the end if not I'll have to go to the vets and get put-down!

I was able to do a little shuffle around the garden yesterday Bob 'caught' me and said 'just tell me what to do and I'll do it for you' that was really sweet of him as I know he doesn't like the 'normal' stuff of gardening like weeding or cleaning up after the girls, he likes being busy 'making things' of which he does a pretty good job! I forgot to tell you all that Halloween was really great even 'cat woman' (from next door) spraying silly spray all over our hedge, gates and door couldn't spoil it for us, I think she used 3 or 4 cans!

I have to say when 'cat woman' was told by Dan's g/f to come back later when I was back from the doctors we had a right scream at her expense I couldn't believe how she had the cheek to come back for goodies after doing such a mess, I was pretty peed off I can tell you.

Cat woman returned and I asked her if it was her who did all the damaged and the silly moo said 'Yes'.

I have to tell you cat woman has two sides of which she doesn't know we are aware of; one that is all smiles and apple pies and the other that rants, raves, screams and swears something terrible at her kiddies of which we can hear from our home and although we are not joined onto her house we can quite clearly hear her going off on one through our double glazing!

Anyway it's rare for me to swear so boy was she shocked to hear me go nuclear on her on our door step needless to say she left eyes wide and mouth open

We trimmed up the outside of the house and placed our wonderful rock style garden speakers near the hedge and garden gates, although the music is pretty scarey our trimmings are not they are very much geared up for little ones but even still the music makes the poor guys and girls a little frighten coming up the garden path but the mums and dads love it!

I was sad to find out last year that mostly all on our estate hid behind closed curtains for Halloween I know it's not really 'our' celebration but me and Bob love to see children having so much fun and have always encouraged our boys to dress-up for play when they were younger so much so that it wasn't rare for us to go shipping to Asda with Batman & Robin in tow or a couple of cowboys for that matter! :D

Anyway Bob and I must have given quite a few on our estate a wake-up call as this year it was very much reversed, children were telling us how well they were doing and even going back home to dump their pumpkin buckets before going back and finishing the estate!

We had a trio of cute little girls who had dragged their poor mum across the village just to visit 'The Haunted House' again and of course to get the glowsticks that we always give out.....I was telling all the monsters don't forget to call next year I'll have more!

All the children were very polite and one sweet little 3 year old who wasn't trick a treating made Bob and I scream with laughter.

She was walking past with her grandad he was pushing the pushchair while little miss was strolling along without a care in the world.

Bob shouted to her do you want to visit the hanuted house she shouted back 'no' so Bob asked her grandad did she want a sweet? Grandad asked and again she said no.

I hobbled along to her as grandad waited for me and I asked the little one if she was sure she didn't want a sweet or two again she said no but hidden behind my back I had a glowstick unbeknown to her.

I said to her 'Oh I don't think you would want one of these then' and revealed the prize her little eyes lit up and she said 'Oh YES! much to the howls of laughter of grandad, Bob and I!

I can't wait for next year hopefully I'll be fitter than this year and be able to dress-up!

that sounds great. i'm glad you & bob have a good time at halloween.

we don't get much round here now cos most of the kids that used to do are too old. we do get some though that come with their (usually) mums & they make a real effort to dress up.

we got some sweets in this year, ready for them but i only heard one knock & by the time i had got downstairs they had gone! my neighbour said she had at least six, so i don't know if we just didn't hear them or what.

and that of course means that we have had to eat the sweets [IMG]

do you have any photos of your house when it is done up for halloween? i noticed a lit pumpkin at a house up the road outside the front door which i thought was lovely & showed that the people there would welcome trick or treaters.

your neighbour sounds like a nightmare. we have actually had people move out a few doors up cos of their new neighbours. luckily we aren't next to them. good for you though for sticking up for yourself.

(notice the graemlin everyone! i'm getting good aren't i?)
    cheers
    sandra

Hi Sandra Halloween did me far much better than any morphine I can tell you it was great next year it will be bigger and better.

We didn't bother to close our front door we left it open to all and Bob was on door duty again to call over any shy monsters as he did last year when I dressed as a witch, long black hair, big hat the works even put on a silly voice and had a scream...... the little ones were petrified and cheeky Bob told them don't be scared of the old witch shes nice really...we had the parents giggling like crazy teenagers!

Didn't get any pictures of the house I'll have to remember to take some next year everything happened so very quick!

Oh my goodness Sandra have we unleashed a graemlin monster? now you can make them!

Hi Ste Cat-woman hasn't been seen since the other evening just a pity her cat's are not doing the same...she'll be moving in a few years as she's dropped another baby lives in a 2 bed council house and yes we all know who pays her rent and council tax not her for sure! so she'll not be allowed to stay when they reach an age.

Ste you make me howl even Mrs.Imps sounds a barrel of laughs although some how I don't think those late kiddies will think the same! :D

Ste our 'cat-woman' isn't so pleasing on the eye as yours!

Later on we are off to pick up our Swede and I don't mean at the local supermarket but at East Midlands Airport!

It's going to be fun having another lad to look after although the poor guy will wonder what kind of madhouse he is staying at but like all good patients in the asylum we will take our medication and try to behave...or maybe not! :D

I'm finally catching up on the threads on the site. I knew you weren't well, Helen, but I wasn't sure why. What a bummer to have to be on morphine!
Great that you're still struggling on though, people who take to their beds with bad backs often seize up completely.
I hope you get sorted soon and can return to the garden with the gusto to which you have become accustomed.
    Lovely garden too.

Hiya Nursewhen I know what you mean catching up on all the threads on this wonderful site.... good job I'm not nosy! [IMG]

I'm also not a lazy bones just a plain moaner or as Bob calls me a 'lemon sucker' as the pain shows quite clearly on my face.... thank goodness for this site otherwise Bob would have put me out of my misery ages ago for talking about my pain at least you guys can't shoot me for moaning or can you? [IMG]

Hello there Ste the 'Swede' is doing fine Mike is an awful lot smaller in height and general size than my boys so I'ave been trying to build the poor lad up with plenty of cooked dinners and of course Yorkshire puddings....he's not really sure about the puddings I can tell by the way he eats them bless him but it sure is fun to watch! :D

Harry asked us to treat Mike quite gently as we all are quite mad here I thought fair enough. Then Harry goes and starts saying at the dinner table 'I hope we win such-and-such at this LAN as he's says he will eat his right testicule if we do' I nearly choked on my food and then of course all hell broke loose and we were all at ease and had our 'normal' crazy no holds barred conversations!

I had to tell Mike not to judge all English families by us but he told us that he felt quite at ease as his father is just the same back home!

Which brings me back to something that was said last year by our young nephew who hadn't seen us for years I might add, he told us that we are weird but in a really good way as both Bob and I laugh and giggle so much...such a shame that a young boy of 10 doesn't have laughter and a great deal of fun at home, doesn't cost a thing but boy does it make you feel great! [IMG]

See you all when we get back from Newbury, take care guys. [IMG]

Wow Helen! We're in a scarily similar situation!

I too have a spinal condition! I'm off morphine now [thankfully] but i know how irritating and uncomfortable such a condition can be!

Your garden looks absolutely gorgeous, and such an inspiration to me as i'm just starting out now, I am so totally in love with your flamingo tree, i may have to track one down myself!

Hi Ste did you miss me? I think not! :D
The trip to newbury was okay but also a right pain in the a*s as you can imagine, we did an far bit of travelling visiting a few people although not alive i.e.Benny Hill's grave and a few others...god I hope you all don't think I'm morbid!

Mick the Swede has gone back home a big hug from me and away he went...both me and Harry (my youngest)gave the poor guy such a scare at the airport explaining to him why the big barriers were placed near the doorways all the colour drained from his face.....what a wicked lot we are! :D

Hello Whiley as you can see I don't do 'small'

I'm really peed that I can't do much at the moment out in the garden...... there's the wood for the new decking just waiting to be 'put down' but as I do all the measuring for Bob we are very much at stalemate as a shuffle is all I can do at the moment even with the morphine od which doesn't seem to work for me at all!

Got the results from my x-rays seems I have got Arthritis now and I have to go to have my bloods done later today...what a pain!
