I see I thought you might of been using limestone chipping which isn't a good combo with quite a lot of grass species mainly fescue but most prefer slight acidic .

So today i put the steps in and started to fill up the first 100mm with chippins, leaving 200mm (8”s) for sand and topsoil……

More work done today on the gravel areas of the garden, smashed up 40 unwanted slabs and path edging to fill the void, saves on hardcore….it will be filled now with 14mm chippings and then decorative stone on top

Just a thought, the level looks quite high, is it below the damp course on your house?

Thats next doors conservatory wall and i could go another 6 courses of bricks high and still below the damp course…….its also going to be all gravel in that section, so like a big giant soak away.

As well as the new lawn being built, i also decided to spend a small fortune on more timber and rebuild the planters too. From slim and straggly, to a nice big strong structure.

so over the past week or so, they have gone from this
