    They are in the process of renovating the entire 14 lock lift.:dbgrtmb:

    We replaced the 17 locks with this wonder of the world

    It only uses the energy of EIGHT boiling kettles to lift the barge or yacht
    and the use of it for shipping is FREE

    It is only the punters that go to see it and have a trial ride that pay the £8 each :-)

        That is very impressive. It’s now on my list of things to go and see when (if?!) I retire.
        It’s low power consumption reminds me of the cliff railway at Lynton & Lynmouth on Exmoor, which uses no power at all.

        Sad story in the museum at the bottom about the Lynmouth flood in the 1950s though :(
