Thanks everyone for the lovely welcomes for my wife and I. I think we had bettter stop here, as this is getting into a forum for Bristolians rather than gardening topics!!
But I will just add that in answer to INTOMYPLANTS, yes I am definitely a robin - season ticket holder, Senior Red, shareholder, etc (and I must have done something right as a parent too, as all 3 of my children and all 3 of my grandchildren are robins too!)
And like Anthony we couldn't think of living anywhere else either - they will take me out from here in a box!
And now, back to the garden ................
