    Thanks for all your replies to my problems. Of course I have been watering my pots and plants (including the runners) using 'brown water - liberally laced with W/U liquid:whistle:.
    Of course I was just watering the roots. Nevermind eh? I will try treating the bamboo canes and if any splashes on the blackfly it will just be too bad!
