New N.H.S. rules

    Hi, Sinta. My mother's side of the family came from Switzerland (Megen, nr. Lake Lucerne). We're a pretty mongrel race, the Brits. Glad everyone has been nice to you. I agree with the point that if you've paid into any system you shouldn't be denied treatment for any reason, otherwise, you've paid for no purpose. Basic "fairness" I suppose [​IMG]

    Just an aside that has just been on 'Look North' and has made my blood boil.

    A woman from Yorkshire with cancer has been told by her local trust that if she pays for a drug, which is not available on the NHS, herself, she will then be considered 'private' and will have to pay for all her treatment, even the part that is currently being provided by the NHS. �£10,000 a month. That is like telling the mother of a child who qualifies for a free school meal that if the child is given an apple or a bag of crisps by someone else then they lose their free meal.

    I bet that decision was made by administrators not doctors.
