Another update, here's my little pond today, looking really good, I'm very pleased with its overall progress, the iris I got are just about to come into flower, the grass around the edge is coming into 'flower' too, amazing how many different types there are just from turf saved from the lawn that was dug up :)

Back in the pond frogbit is plentiful, it's popping up all over the place, the lilies are looking good, the only thing I have to keep in check is the duckweed every other day, which is easy enough and gives me an excuse mess in the water :snork:

Another new species for my little pond, several damselflies were enjoying it yesterday and today :hapfeet:

It looks amazing and in such a short space of time - I thought it took years for ponds to mature. Well done :)

Something of a frog invasion today , there's always been 4 or 5 frogs in the pond but today I counted no fewer than 16!, from little ones to full grown adults and there's still all the tadpoles to come!

They're doing good with the slugs, hardly seen any, shame they don't eat snails, there's hundreds of them this year :yikes: :snork:

Well for the last week or so, I think every lily and frogbit leaf in my pond has been sat on by baby frogs, they're everywhere :dancy:

The lilies are doing very well too, had 3 flowers open today :)

There is also a good 80% coverage from lily and frogbit leaves which is keeping the water crystal clear, I have had to crop some of the frogbit though as it has been unbelievably rampant this year :snork:

Only just found this thread, so delightful! One of the first things I'm going to put on my allotment is a pond, so thanks for the inspiration.

The first update of my wildlife pond for 2015, its looking good and there's lots of life: frogs, tadpoles, daphnia, caddis, water louse, leeches, snails, nymphs are all in residence and enjoying their little piece of heaven :)

New leaves on the lilies are just emerging and the frogbit is popping up from the bottom daily :)

Just need to keep a check on the duckweed :snork:
