Hi all, We've managed to get and measure the tunnel ... She is 36 ft long and 11 ft wide , plenty big enough. So now the question is have I found the cheapest quote for the cover ?. Found one on ebay for £128 quid (9m x 16m). Unless anyone knows different ??

The clearer the better Jangles, in our "muddied" skies here in the UK it will give your plants more light to grow under.

Just last week I helped a friend fit a first tunnels cover on his frame for him, and I think its the same cover as the one in your ebay ad.

The cover came rolled up very nicely making it easy to unroll, then unfold to fit, we centred it side to side ensuring we had the overlaps at the end equal. We had already made and fitted some door frames for the framework...you will need something like this to fit your cover to...see my polytunnel topic for the method I used for mine (there are probably other methods too on the net).

The price of the cover is reasonable, you could get a little cheaper but you would probably sacrifice something that you get with first tunnels cover, commonly I have found in my research that its the thickness of the cover that's first to go, yours is 720 gauge, others are mostly 600 gauge.

      Steve...:)

Coming back from down the garden , I turn and look at the 2 chickens walking around the patio........... ARGGhhhhhh!!, 2 of the little sods , Oh yes this is gonna be fun, By the way chickens do not understand the words ''Come here you little moo poo!'' - I know cos they never came.
So I go gets the bag of mealworms, gives it a shake and grabs the fat warm feathered little cow, turn around and looks at the other one, This is THE HOUDINI And she is a runner , not good for me I'm in crocs!!. Come here you little darling (WTF why am I talking to these bloody birds, they do as they like ?). 3 bloody times I goes for her, Finally I get her and plop her back over the netting. HE is gonna be rethinking this fortress, as I am not a chicken catcher. I have pulled the netting up like a holey pair of tights and fixed it with canes- see if you can get over that 7 foot net you little shits!!. Now I need my bacon sarnie :)

        *************UPDATE*************
I don't believe it!,(Victor meldrew here), The same 2 bloody birds have got out again FFS- It appears they have seen the film- 'The Great Escape', the little cows are tunnelling out. This time I get Houdini first, now the other one is like 'can't catch me', wanna bet Biatch!. she is in, I have boarded the tunnel up. Now gonna report to the commandant!. I feel like Tweedies chicken bloody run, Now can I eat my sarnie??

ARgh, after finding another one out... I think I have spotted a defect in the perimeter!!. I have put some large rocks on the said defect and await to see if the birds are rock climbers!
