[IMG] Yesterday the grandchildren came over & we have sown sunflower seeds. They are going to keep some here & take some home to see which do best!! ;)
[IMG] I have also sown some Morning Glory. Giant White Ipomoea, or Moonflower. Soaked seeds before sowing as advised. Now we shall all have to wait & see what comes through!!!! :D

I always pot a Sunflower each for the kiddies my wife looks after and they take them home to look after them.
Last year one Dad at a proudly announced his sons plant had grown to nine foot and was still going strong!
Should I have mentioned I only give them dwarf seeds?

[IMG] I think that is a super idea Paladin. Nothing like "wetting" childrens appetites!! :D
[IMG] Do they bring them back if they are dwarf ones, for a prize for the biggest? Or are they a bit young for that?? [IMG]
 Think you can safely say that Dad wasn't the gardener in that house....!! :D

I reckon they mostly go by the wayside.
But we have had prizes given...usually for the returned pots :D
One little fellow has got so into it that he is forever nicking my seeds...I've trained him too well! ;)
As for the Dad...He was after a prize for sure...!I think the local G.C.is his garden.
    I tell the wife,when they are in the garden."Let them look..but don't TOUCH!" :( :D

:D Kids are just splendid!!! They know when they are onto a good thing!! :D :D
 Seems a pity the parents haven't grown out of the "must have" syndrome though either!! ;)
 Sorry to say it, but is it all the "instant garden" programs??!!!

I got a free packet of mixed sunflowers nd one lot only grew to 18" but they were the ones my lot were more interested in growing. I had to empty 3 packets of seeds and mix them on a plate and they chose their own seeds to grow. I dont know who is more excited, them or me, how long do they take to germinate??? i dont think i can wait, my house has baby plants all over it, hubby says like living in a garden centre, cant wait to put them all in.
