Hello all

I am new to this site and just wanted to say hello.

I am Disabled and am currently trying to get on top of my garden where the borders have become overgrown in the last few years.

Needless to say that it is difficult for me but I am trying.

I will see you in the Forums.

Thanks for the welcome.

I did look at the Disabled Section, however, it seems to be more targeted at Physical Disabilities.

I suppose I should of been clearer concerning my Disability, sorry about that.

I am Autistic and find it difficult to leave the house, even to go into the garden at times, especially the front garden.

Also, because I have sensory sensitivities I find it difficult to be outside in the warmer weather as it makes me ill.

I am trying to get things done in the garden but it is difficult.

Gardening For People With Disabilities

 

A belated "hello and welcome!" from me, in a rather grey-skied Belgium.

I can understand that your autism can make gardening difficult. But as you know, little steps to help you acclimatise to the garden will help.

We try to be helpful here, and we're definitely a cheerful bunch! If we don't explain things clearly, don't be afraid to ask us to say it another way. I know that what seems clear and obvious to us now, is not so obvious when you are starting... We've all been beginners at one time, and had patient gardeners explain things to us (sometimes over and over and over again!) until we grasped the concept.
