[IMG]Dare I make the same New Year's Resolution as last year?
Well, I did lose 15lb over the year and I suppose that's
better than putting any weight on.

I did indulge a bit, few choccies and cakes, Christmas pudding and cream ....
but all in moderation so I didn't put any weight on over Christmas.

Now perhaps I can double my weight loss (i.e. another 30 lbs)
by the end of the year.

jjordie ... if at first you don't succeed ... can I have the little poppet, please?

windy ... well, what can I say ????? With the reports I've been seeing, I don't think you can!

PS I think Dendro was talking about a secret diet society or something. I've confided in her.

You have to be carefull how much weight you loose as you need fat cells to plump wrinkles out.. :D :D you often find really skinny people are more wrinkled than the plumper ones.. :D and as most of us are the wrong side of 40 the skin has lost its elasticity so it wont spring back as well and will just hang and sag !!

That's true!!! I know someone who's lost a lot of weight and now is just,if not more, miserable then she was before as she's got all this excess skin hanging on her arms and belly  She still can't wear all those pretty things she wanted to!! She's saving up now to have it all sliced off
Think I'll just stay slightly over weight thank you very much!!!!! Besides, I lose my bosoms when I get thin, and I'm quite attached to those!!
    :D :D

Gonna give up cheese to reduce my cholesterol. Big problem as I am a serious cheesaholic!

Main thing is to do it gradually, LoL! Then you don't get these problems. A friend of mine has lost over 5 stone, but he's done it through sensible eating, increased regular exercise over more than a year - looks great on it, and it shows even in the way he walks. And eats everything, but in moderation!

I'm the same, HB - love cheese, but need to bring down the cholesterol a bit. Not easy to do without cheese......

Dendrobium..it depends how old you are as a lot of very overweight people have to get surgery to remove the sagging fat after dieting..their was one on the tv the other night he had lost 10 stone and he had to tuck his wrinkled sagging fat into his trouser belt as it was gross and it just hung so he tucked it in till he raised the £5000 for the operation..my daughter lost 3 stone last year but she lived on organic wholefood and went to the gym 3 times a week..and she is younger than us so its easier..And her skin more supple than us..
I wouldnt worry about your weight any of you just cut down and exercise more ..life is for living not existing..I walked 3 miles uphill this morning to sainsburys..and thats my lot for today !! :D

Exercise is the key to weight control and health. Not everyone is able to take physical exercise of coures, but many who can - don't.

Far too many people spend their lives sitting down. They get out of bed and sit in their car on their way to work. They sit in front of a computer at work until its time to get in their car and sit all the way home. Then they sit watching television until its time to go to bed. What other animal sits on the end of its spine? It can't be natural and if we didn't sit so much we wouldn't have such big bums. The best resolution for anybody who can walk is to do just that. Don't give up anything - just walk 10 miles a day every day. I do and I've had surgery on both legs.

    10 miles a day!!!!!??????? Don't you mean 1????

Eveything in moderation is the key. I little of what you fancy does the world of good - otherwise you'd just be miserable. You don't have to starve yourself, just alter WHAT you eat. Cut out the cr*p, plenty of fruit and veg (even nicer if its home grow organically!!!), and if you fancy a bit of chocolate, then buy buy a SMALL child's bar, not a king size mars!!!! If you fancy a bit of cheese, go to the cheese counter and buy just 2-3oz.

Too much excersise can do HUGE amounts of harm. If you want to walk, the recommended is start off with 15 minutes of brisk walking per day for the first week, then increase by 15 minutes per week. If you know you can do more, then go for it!!!
