    There have been various reports of problems with children swallowing them @Tidemark and having to go to A&E. I heard items about it years ago.

    Dreadful things. How this stuff is allowed to be sold is beyond me - the trouble is, even if they weren't available to buy 'over the counter' they'd still be available online.

    I wonder if they have the same effect as those water storage crystals that you get for containers.

          Best and most ecologically friendly slug destroyers are:

          Thrushes, starlings and blackbirds, chickens and ducks, foxes, badgers, hedgehogs, shrews, slow worms, beetles, toads and frogs. :)

            I don't know about ducks but the chickens we had didn't touch he slugs,
            Wish they would have, it would have been better than the size 12 boot.:gaah:

            Derbyshire ducks love ‘em. I sometimes take them in a little plastic bag down to the river and scatter them around for the local ducks. Better than breadcrumbs!:)
