I was just thinking about you and your garden yesterday evening; what a coincidence that you posted! It was great to read your update :blue thumb:

    :heehee:

That bed is going to look stunning this time next year

    :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

And now, it will look double stunning next year :dbgrtmb:

I can't tell from your photo, but, you did plant it in a pot, didn't you? It's a vigorous plant and will take over that border for you.

Loving how your garden is developing, keep up the great work, its a real pleasure to see it :star:

It's all looking good can't wait to see the border when the plants are established gonna look impressive...

I'm a bit luckier with the birthday, being September last year I had the greenhouse this year I've booked in a propane heater for said greenhouse :snork:

And well the garden centre is just lethal this time of year, I can't be trusted anywhere near one:lunapic 130165696578242 5: Yesterday went to B&Q to replace a terracotta pot that the dogs knocked over and broke, came home with two new containers and some more plants.... When hubby came home from work and noticed my excuse was I couldn't make my mind up to which container, so brought both:biggrin:

He's dreading what I will come home with on Friday, as taking oldest daughter to the garden centre as she want's a couple of containers for her garden, sadly for my daughter her partner is very reluctant to change anything in the garden.... It's just grass it's taken several years to convince him to put up two hanging baskets on the garage!

Thanks v much M! The mint isn't in a pot but it can't be that bad can it? :mute:

Thanks Ellie, I' m hoping it will fill out fairly quickly. I've annoyingly only just realised the Potentillas aren't evergreen, never mind! I've still got my belfast sink raised pond to put in there too, no idea where yet though.

You're right, it's not that bad ... you still have time to dig it up, pot it up and then bury the pot back into that spot :phew: Crisis averted :coffee:

Yes, it can be quite vigorous so you'll have to keep an eye on it and then ... judge for yourself :heehee:

A quick shot of veg plot. I need to do the top bit but I think that's going to have to be a winter job!

It's looking great Nick. Did you manage to solve your flooding issues?

Thanks All! Still a fair way to go yet though!

Regarding the flooding Sheal, it's not happened once this year. :mute::mute::mute:

When I took the Willow tree out I dug a fair way down and chucked a lot of gravel in so hopefully that's working like a sump a bit. A lot of the borders have been dug over (especially the raised veg patch!) and I've taken lots of of bricks out there were hidden under the soil. All of this has hopefully gone towards making it less prone to flooding.

Having said that you can only sit on the grass for about 30 secs before you get a soggy bum but it does mean I never have to water the garden, haha! With there never been a shortage of water everything seems to go grow like mad, especially the weeds and ruddy bloody Horsetail!

I'm glad to hear the water issues have improved and hopefully as your plants develop they will help dry it out more. :) Weeds in general....par for the course unfortunately. Horsetail a right mare of a weed (excuse the pun) that you must keep up the battle against! Good luck! :)
