        Great selection there

I'm sure @wiseowl would be able to help you with the name of the rose.
Can't wait to see those same beauties in summer time :spinning:

Could the rose be dame de coeur? Great work, like the improved layout.

A lot of progress nfrost! :dbgrtmb:

The soil will obviously wash out from between the slabs, the only way I can see round it is to face the steps with upright slabs to hold the soil.

Look on the net for methods of paving and steps..........you'll probably need to mortar the step slabs in place.:coffee::snork:

                I've just asked hubby

He say, you need to put in a a couple inch's of foundation that runs from where you've your first lower slabs, and end it to where your step finish, Then you 5 spot mortar the slabs, then where you want the step up, you build the step with bricks, then 5 point mortar the slabs on top of the bricks..

Or for a easier version, put in the foundation in the fall length of all bricks, then where you want the step to be, section of with wood, and add another layer of concrete behind... brick across the front of the concrete, then slab 5 point mortar again.

Now onto the 'paving' at the top, I'm planning on using old bricks in a tessellated fashion.

There's a dangerous amount of good looking plants/shrubs in the garden centres at the moment. It's a shame my birthday is in November! Next on my list to get is an Acer and a Cider Gum tree.
