    Yes, I've been in Falkirk 12 years now, an exile from Hamilton who got here via Liverpool and Hemel Hempstead! We're not very far from Musselburgh, friends have daughter there, though now moving to Dunbar . Where south of the border are you?

      I am in Ashford in Middlesex, which is just within the M25 near Staines - been here 17 years now, and doubt I will get back home before I retire, if at all. Dunbar is a nice part of the country - nicely quiet without being desolate.

        Ah, gateway to France, eurotunnel, etc.... thought Ashford was in Kent? Did it move??? Anyway....we lived south of the border 25 years but still managed to come home

          There is two Ashfords, which confuses anyone. I am essentially at the top of the M3, with Heathrow a couple of miles behind me, and Twickenham just up the road. Its not a bad area to be fair, and we are fortunate to have the best neighbours anyone could ask for. I must confess, I don't think I have ever stopped in or around Falkirk - keep promising myself that I will at some point, if only to see the Wheel - nice part of the country though, and you should be relatively sheltered there, being away from the coasts (well, as sheltered as anywhere in Scotland can be!)?

                That explains it! Didn't know that... re Ashford, I mean!
                Doesn't exactly feel sheltered sometimes! In fact it can be a sort of wind tunnel. But it's not like Orkney or the Hebrides, for sure
