Mine was easy to pick having the Christian name Helen but most of my friends call me Hel and as you can imagine Hel in front of other words are endless.

As I was/am pretty quick at digging Hel-of-a-digger seemed to fit the bill just right for this forum..Hel.xxx

Whenever I go up home, when I'm about to go to the pub I always issue a standard text message to all my mates to let them know I'm here and see if they are coming out. It simply reads "Are you out?".

One time, one of my mates attempting to abbreviated his reply to the most compact form possible and simply replied "Y". It was a counterproductive exercise because I had to text him back and ask "Is that Y as in Yes or Y as in Why?". He just phoned me after that because it was all getting too confusing:)

"It simply reads "Are you out?"."

Don't Northerners text "Are you in, or ought?" :)

I think that's Barnsley language isn't it? Not quite sure. I think a bit further north they might say "Ya ga'an doon toon?". My bit is somewhere in between:)

What the blinkin' eck are you two on about??

" 'Owt" means "anything", "n'owt means nothing".

As in "there's n'owt up wi' me" or "is there 'owt up wi't'er"

There's a lesson for you, yon flaysome, marred know n'owts!

Ah, is that how you spell it? :(

In that case I meant to say "Are you in, or 'Owt?"

I've already been and got my coat ... so I'll be off now. :)

When I worked in the garden centre there were two of us " Dais ". So when customers asked for David, they`d be asked, Dai the driver or, as I ran the plant section, Dai the plant.:gnthb:

Dianthus - MMORPG is short for massively multiplayer online role-playing game it is a type of game genre. MMORPGs are online role-playing multiplayer games which allow thousands of gamers to play at the same time via the Internet. The game I play is called Anarchy Online (although I tend to mainly play it in the winter evenings).

My jokes are wasted on you lot ... :(

Not "'Owt" as in Out but 'Owt" as in "something" else.

The punchline Ta! Da! is that "Owt" sounds like "Out".

    You got it yet? <DrumStickOnSymbolSound>?

Yeah yeah, yeah, so you say you got all that and I should sling my hook :(

My coat is already on my arm, so I'll toddle off ...
