    Like that Lad:dbgrtmb:

Mrs Chopper, the cuckoo was up at Curry Mallet last week, just a few miles from us.

The Egrets nest up at Fivehead, they pinch the nests off the Herons. There is a hide where you can watch them from. Take the road from Curry Rival and just before you get into Fivehead there is a Nature reserve sign on the right. Worth a look but take your binoculars.

They've been nesting in the UK since 1996.

Ziggy lovely to hear mention of Curry Rival and Fivehead:thumbsup:Mr Kandy's late Auntie and Uncle lived in Isle Abbotts and it was lovely to go and visit them but sadly they are both now laid to rest in the village and their bungalow sold so we no longer have a reason to visit the area unless we want to put flowers on their patch of grass. They really loved the area for the peace and tranquilityand the beautiful countryside:)

Sorry Mrs Chopper have gone off topic a bit here, ooops:o

Ahh, you'll be familiar with the thatched petrol station at Isle Brewers then. Can't help wondering what their insurance costs:rolleyespink:

There are some other lovely nature reserves around here, run by the RSPB.

A little Egret at the Shapwick Heath reserve towards Glastonbury. Mostly flooded old peat diggings with lots of walkways and a walk along the old railway track. Bitterns breed there too.

Two seen here at Radipole RSPB reserve yesterday, there ought to be more as the reserves are humming with Reed and Sedge Warblers (and Cettis and Chiffchaffs and Whitethroats and a Savis Warbler).

I think the Swift is in as much trouble as the House Martin.
