Just another few words of encouragement and patience from a newbie to all this.

Planted 6 tomato plants in my greenhouse for the first time this year. Early May I think. Bought 2xtumblers, 2xsweet 100 and 2xroma.

I've had dozens of tomotoes off both of the tumblers but nothing from the other 2 types. They are though just starting to turn colour. So I guess so much depends on the variety as to when they ripen. I'll probably have no fruits of any colour left on the tumblers when I pick my first from either of the others!

Being new to any fruit/veg growing I'm just glad I got some :)

My Tumblers are outside and are ripening well, had couple of dozen so far. In the greenhouse my Sweet Millenium are only just turning while the Gardeners Delight have a way to go yet the best are barely turning greeny-orange.

I think you have a bit of trouble on Photobucket Golfer, all your images have been moved or deleted apparently:confused:

    Never seen a red banana:rolleyes:

Just to say, my outdoor bush toms are not red yet....but of course that's normal this time of year. They are in large pots and by gawd they are greedy for water even after all this rain.

Tweaky, Morrisons were selling red bananas a few weeks ago (no joke).
They were quite expensive but people were buying them!!!

We had our first Gardeners Delight tomatoes with our salad yesterday - delish!!

"I've only got flowers on mine no tomatoes"

Are there no little tiny fruits where the flowers were?

If not you need to help them pollinate. Just gently tap the plants to dislodge the pollen (you should then be able to smell it!). Misting with water will help too. And try to prevent the greenhouse getting seriously hot (I forget the details, but I think if the temperature goes over 90F or somesuch the flowers will not set fruit)

Even my "early" ripening varieties are still green and I'm in London! Just keep them well watered and well fed, soon you will be gorging on them, gonna be a late season this year cos we just ain't had the sun
