I've been using the soap for some time. :blue thumb:

I have it inside a pillow and have my legs on the pillow. The frequency of the bad cramps that I have suffered from for decades has dropped considerably since using it. I haven't the faintest idea why it works but it certainly makes a difference.

Ah i just have two lots of soaps either side of the bed between the sheet and matteess protector

My mate looked it up and aparently she found something that said that the scent in the soaps does soemthing to expand the veins in your legs or something so blood flows better

No idea how that works but it works.

I don't use scented soap :noidea: :). I'm allergic to them! So that doesn't seem to be the answer.

Re soap:- we hang small pieces of soap in muslin bags on our fence to keep the deer away (a recognised deterrent) but we have been told, by the head gardener at a very well known garden, that scented soap isn't as effective as non-scented.

Im allergic to soap myself but only if i wash with it it makes me break out in eczema. Under the sheets not touching my skin is fine

No idea then as to why it works. I was told when someone suggested it that all soap should be fine except dove because dove doesnt work. Which i thought was really random but not a problem as im most allergic to dove.

I just have waitrose own apple and something soaps in mine at home and in the spare bed at my parents. The bed in wales has loads of random soaps that my nan had bought over the year that never got used.

I don't have Restless Leg Syndrome but it certainly relieves the frequency of the leg cramps.

The only meds I take are Paracetomol when I have a really bad head. Can't take much else so I stick to Homoeopathic remedies. They work well :blue thumb:

Yep i havent been on meds for two and a half years none of them kill any of the pain im in :-( just on omeprezole for excess acid when i need it

Tried for my headaches paracetamol, neurofen, amitriptyline, diclofenac, naproxen (which puts loads of weight on me quickly) toprimate, propranolol (which made me collapse because i already have low blood pressure and gave me constant raynaud symptoms lol) pizotifen and tramadol

I will never go on tramadol again unless i really have to. I had no side effects on it apart from i wasn't hungry and only wanted to eat green veg but i was on it for four months and ended up on the highest dose but it didnt work so had to go through a month of withdrawal which was horrendous. I Never want to do it ever again. Unfortunately because i cant have codeine it means no morphine or other non synthetic opiates so i prod will have to have tramadol again

There is one drug left i can try but no allowed to until I'm out of my fertile stage of life as it causes spina bifida in babies so the docs wont give it to me even though i dont want children.

Im hoping by then the headaches will have gone themselves as that is probably about 22 years away!

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, I've got a lot of catching up to do.

Tai chi is excellent, but I think it's important to note that not all tai chi is the same.

Tai chi is actually kung fu. It is the part of kung fu that teaches 'stillness in motion'. It's the art that gives kung fu it's characteristic effortless and fluid appearance even when used in combat. It follows then that in some schools, it is very strenuous and physically demanding, while other schools focus more on the gentle flowing aspect, breathing techniques, and energy channelling.

Related to and incorporated into tai chi is qigong, which teaches cultivation of 'life force'. Chi means something like life force or life energy. Gong or kung means something like cultivation of skill. Therefore qigong means something like cultivation of life force/energy.

There are lots of good videos on YouTube that teaches qigong, and not all will come under that heading. There are very few literal translations between oriental languages and English, so it helps to know they etymology when searching for information. Qi is sometimes spelled chi or ki, gong is sometimes spelt gung or kung. The most common spelling in the west is qigong, but that means you miss some good stuff. One of my favourite introductory exercises comes up under 'ki gong' and is this.

We learnt the gentle version of Taoist Tai Chi under Master Moy.

Even though it seems simple it becomes fairly strenuous when doing it for 20 minutes (that's how long it took for us to do a full set) because there's a lot of stretching involved.

Some of the co-ordination required looks simple but it's similar to the effect of patting yourself on the head and rubbing your tummy in circular motions at the same time!
