    Well done! :blue thumb:
It is a wooden coop and that will not keep mites away so you will definitely be needing that spray.

Won't look like that for long :roflol:

Remember to position your coop so the door isn't facing prevailing winds .They like a bit of ventilation but not keen on draughts when their in bed:thumbsup:...

I see you've already got one cute chick ...

Another handy tip...make sure there is a bench close by because your going to spend a lot of time watching them, get yourselves comfy and enjoy them:chicken::dancy:

Hi Sarah, just another little tip from me! If you have your coop on the grass, the hens will scratch the grass..you will have no grass at all! Yes I'm speaking from experience :snork:, you will need to regularly move the coop because the grass/soil area can get a bit stinky! I've put my coops on the patio for now, it makes it a lot easier for cleaning. One day I'm going to have a special area for the coops, when hubby gets round to it!. You could lay a few slabs in the run area just so it's a bit easier for you to keep clean. :blue thumb: We really are on countdown to your hens now! I'm very excited :hapfeet::chicken::chicken::chicken::chicken:
Oh & just one more thing! You might like to find yourself an avian vet, there's probably a local vet who specialises in this or hens/farm animals. It's always nice to have a contact just incase, although you do have a lot of experienced people on here who I know will help you if need be :blue thumb:

We live in a rural area anyway so our local vets are more than used to poultry and farm animals. :)

Have been very busy today finishing building the coop and starting the fence. Going well so far! Will post some pics in a bit :)

It's slowly coming together! Considering I've never done anything like this before I'm pretty pleased with myself!
