Yes, counties need to be run like a business. and delegate the social to others. In the short span of time Trump has been there he has done more than the wasted 8 years of that puppet. and Trump does not take a paycheck.

Interesting, guess you all love your leaders, don't see a thread devoted to their achievements or lack there of. hummm. oh yes, we have freedom of speech here is that it?

It's only the USA's corrupt way of adding up votes that he got in.

its not corrupt way to vote. if you can take time to understand why our forefathers did it that way you would understand. But as you are from a small country, not even large enough to cover our California and less diverse than our whole USA I doubt you would get it.

There are some things that need to be made a little more transparent.

Yes, Canada has this ugly supply management system for the dairy industry. A better name would be "license to price fix". It is very old and unfair to us Canucks. We can only bring $20 worth of cheese or butter back on a single trip from the US without getting hit with a giant penalty. All other grocery items and most other consumer prodcts, we have to pay sales tax-NOT customs duties.

In the US, the farmers recieve subsidies. Still stacking the deck but the burden is spread out evenly. The rich peoples taxes are proportionally used to pay these subsidies whereas in Canads, the penalty happens at tne till and poor people pay an equally inflated price to give their kids a glass of milk. Sad, but very true.

Both sets of farmers win. The people on either side lose.

Booze is taxed heavily too because a bottle of Canadian Club is three times the cost here and they want to collect just as much tax on any coming over the border. If you stay long enough, you can bring back a 26er, tax free.

Cigarettes are about equal each side. The Indians/Aboriginals are pounding their war drums with joy at the amount of money they make from selling tax exempt smokes because nothing on a reservation can be subject to provincial or federal tax. According to stats, each member of tnese tribes would need to smoke 46 packages a day to justify the volume sold. That includes the old and the infants.

Petrol. Ours has much higher taxes and you can only bring back a tankfull at a time so they don't bug you over that.

What I'm trying to say is, yes, there are some inequalities but the posted tariff rates are seriously inaccurate. I have made hundreds of trips across the border for purchases of everything from shoes to greenhouses. When I was in management in the steel industry, I handled the portfoilo for our Ontario and Buffalo locations so I have first hand knowledge of these workings.There has always been a push and shove relationship when it comes to that commodity.

But this is the first time I have ever seen a president insult an entire nation, their allies for over 200 years. And call us a security threat to boot.

I have first hand knowledge of the actual rates and can tell you that someone is playing a game. And if Trump was fair, he would call it straight. Mexico and their cheap labour are the elephant in the room.

 

Yes, he takes no paycheck.
